This is a very common procedure in men, but few celebs have actually admitted to it.  Singer Robbie Williams has admitted to undergoing a hair transplant surgery.  From Sky News:

“I’ve lived in LA for a long time and they say, ‘If you sit in a barber’s shop for long enough you’ll get a hair cut’.

“Well, if you live in Los Angeles for long enough you’re going to get some surgery.

“I’ve had a thatch done, I’ll tell everyone now. I didn’t even need it, that’s the weirdest thing. I had like three months off and got bored so thought, I’ll go in.”

The star, who has recently been sporting a Pepe Le Pew-style streak in his hair, indicated the hair had been enhanced around the front of his hairline, rather than all over.

“I just got some at the sides and front done,” Williams revealed whilst filming the Graham Norton Show.

I don’t routinely perform hair transplant surgery, but have performed it numerous times in the past.  Today, the most up-to-date technique is follicular unit extraction (FUE) which creates the tiniest scars and is usually performed with the Neograft system.  Instead of doctors cutting a strip of scalp from the back of your head, he or she harvests the hairs one follicle at a time, leaving scars that can be virtually imperceptible.  If you are thinking about hair transplant, it’s probably a good idea to look into this method.
